It’s estimated that it takes about 70 million barrels of oil just to produce the virgin polyester used in fabrics each year.

More than 5,000 gallons of water are used to manufacture just a T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

These are very scary stats…and we hate that we even have to report them. However, they are real and are the very real reason why we think that it is so important to find cleaner, greener and healthier products for our families and the environment.

The industry shift toward fast fashion has greatly accelerated the mass disposal of clothes. The industry has created a monster in that brands attempt to keep up with the ever changing trends, and in order to do so in a timely manner, the overall quality of mass produced clothing has lowered for these brands. After a few wearings and washings, the fast fashion styles are not as attractive as when first purchased, and thus lead to increased disposal.
